Isn’t it amazing how we can become accustomed to life’s minor imperfections? That door that you have to slam a little, the mole just out of view on the bridge of your nose, winter no matter where you live, traffic also no matter where you live. Some of them you can’t change, but some of them you should.
The controls for the turntable were one of the latter. With their mismatched plumbing finish, they have been lurking in the corner of the room for almost as long as the real one lasted. It has always been my intention that they and indeed all controls on the fascia should be black to reinforce the design aesthetic of the layout. How I have lived all these years with this unfinished but trivial task, I don’t know.
Now that they’ve been coated with two coats of black Krylon primer-paint, I can’t stop looking at them. There’s something Beeblebrox-cool about black controls on a black background. Sightless operators rejoice! You with the Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses too!
